For experts from the field of thermal spraying, the city of Erding is now closely linked with an exciting branch of this technology: high velocity oxy-fuel flame spraying. In autumn 2012, thermal spray specialists in fact gathered there for the ninth time. During the two-day event, more than 340 guests from 17 countries got themselves up to speed on the latest HVOF research, technological developments and practical applications.
Since then, new scientific findings and practice-related experience with the implementation of HVOF spraying have generated further technical advances and approaches. New trends have also emerged which can substantially extend the range of coating possibilities. These include methods such as high velocity plasma spraying or high velocity arc spraying. Needless to say, cold spray and laser processes have also undergone significant developments.
On 29 and 30 October 2015, the small and picturesque city of Erding to the east of Munich will again become a hub for specialists as the host of the 10th HVOF Colloquium. In the city’s civic hall, reputable speakers will highlight HVOF innovations and present new materials and hardware. It goes without saying that topics such as environmental protection, energy efficiency, standards, training and occupational safety will also be addressed. Due to ever-increasing demands from industry and legislation, these issues are constantly gaining in importance. Coating businesses and developers will obtain insights into the practical application of HVOF spraying and the accompanying exposition will offer ample scope for face-to-face discussions. The presentations will be translated simultaneously into German and English. The organizers are the Association of Thermal Sprayers GTS e.V., the Linde AG and the Helmut-Schmidt University Hamburg.
Do keep this slot free for the world’s largest HVOF conference of its kind. You will find the latest information about the event on the colloquium’s website. Full program and registration details will be available as of spring 2015.
